    Hi guys. Great site by the way, really like it. I’m interested in your thoughts on IR35.

     

    I saw your article saying the coalition government intends to replace it with something else. Is that true and what does that mean for contractors like me?

    Yes, the coalition government has said it intends to replace it with something more workable. About time too!


    However, I wouldn’t hold your breath. We think that could take a while so until then ensure you’re outside IR35. Have a look at our latest news item for an update on IR35.

    Just to add that we do free reviews of clients’ contracts to ensure they are outside of IR35.


    A properly worded contract is one the most important things you can do in pre-empting IR35.

    Am I right in thinking that other issues can trigger an IR35 investigation – e.g. HMRC finds an issue with PAYE or NI underpayments and this causes HMRC to dig deeper and check on IR35. Is that true? Sneaky buggers! ☺
